CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ CHAUTAUQUA — James L. Hupcej, 28, of Ashville was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI with a blood-alcohol content of .08 percent or greater and failure to keep right after his vehicle was pulled over at 3:16 a.m. Sunday on Route 394 in the town of Chautauqua. Deputies report seeing a vehicle failing to keep right and pulled it over. Hupcej was charged and will be in Chautauqua Town Court at a later date.

¯ ASHVILLE — Taren G. Grover, 21, of Ashville, was charged with moving from lane unsafely, DWI and aggravated DWI for having a blood-alcohol content of .18 percent or higher after an accident on Route 380 in Stockton, at 11:37 p.m. Saturday. According to a police report, deputies responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident and identified the driver as Glover. She will be in Stockton Town Court later.

¯ DUNKIRK — Bruce T. Dejesus, 41, of Dunkirk, was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs at 5:50 a.m. Feb. 7 on Brigham Road, Dunkirk. According to a police report, deputies responded to a report of a vehicle stuck in a yard. They found the vehicle and identified the driver as Dejesus. He will be in Dunkirk Town Court at a later date.

Miles C. Voigt, 30, of Silver Creek, was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing/blood circulation at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. Deputies responded to a report of a fight between Voigt and another person on Burgess Street, Silver Creek and allege Voigt choked another person during the fight. Voigt will be in Silver Creek Village Court later.

ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ A 17-year-old Jamestown youth was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance at 4:30 p.m. Sunday after Ellicott police responded to a report of a fight at the Budget Inn, 2 E. Main St., Falconer. The youth was reportedly found in possession of a controlled substance. He as charged and will be in Ellicott Town Court later.

¯ Donald Paine, 64, of Jamestown was charged with harassment on Feb. 8. According to a police report, Paine allegedly threatened harm to another person. He will be in Ellicott Town Court at a later date.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Chad M. Nelson, 38, of Jamestown was charged at 8:59 a.m. Monday with second-degree obstructing governmental administration after Jamestown police conducted a warrant check at a Fairmount Avenue address. Officers report seeing Nelson inside the home and Nelson reportedly refused to come to the door. Officers were let into the residence by other tenants and allegedly found Nelson hiding in an upstairs bedroom of the residence. Nelson was charged and taken to the Jamestown City Jail until he can be arraigned.

¯ Adam Paxton, 36 of Kennedy was charged Monday just before midnight after police performed a traffic stop of the vehicle he was driving for failure to maintain lane and switched plates. The vehicle was found to be unregistered and uninsured. Continued investigation found Paxton was operating the vehicle in an intoxicated condition and on a revoked NYS driver’s license for a previous DWI conviction and without an ignition interlock device. Officers also located a quantity of cocaine and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. Paxton was charged with moving from lane unsafely, operating without an ignition interlock device, unregistered and uninsured motor-vehicle, consumption of alcohol in a motor-vehicle, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation (a felony), driving while intoxicated (a felony), seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the City Jail.

LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Stephen C. Dean, 39, was charged Monday afternoon after police responded to a shoplifting in progress at Walmart. Dean fled from the scene, was located a short time later and charged with third-degree petit larceny, fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, unlawful possession of marijuana and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Dean was remanded to Chautauqua County Jail on bail and will return to Busti Town Court at a later date.

WESTFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT

Dylan Bryte, 21, of Ripley, was charged Friday with unlawful possession of marijuana and no or inadequate headlamps following a traffic stop just before 9 p.m. on North Portage Street in Westfield. Bryte will appear in Village of Westfield Court at a later date.
