Fredonia Man Jailed In Driving Incident

POMFRET — A Fredonia man was remanded to Chautauqua County Jail after reportedly trying to force another motorist off the road Saturday in the town of Pomfret.

Jonathan Cavero-Santiago, 33, was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment, endangering the welfare of a child and fourth-degree stalking. Deputies with the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to Route 60 in Pomfret for a report of a man following another motorist in a reckless manner.

The driver, identified as Cavero-Santiago, was allegedly following the motorist in an attempt to drive them off the road. Cavero-Santiago then reportedly drove at the other motorist head-on before stopping.

Cavero-Santiago was later taken into custody without incident and arraigned in Pomfret Town Court. He was remanded without bail and will appear back in court at a later date.
