Area Police Reports


¯ SHERMAN — Alicia A. Cavazos, 20, of Hartfield, Conn., was treated at UPMC Chautauqua WCA Hospital after an accident at 5:49 a.m. Tuesday on I-86 in Sherman. Cavazos told deputies she lost control of her vehicle and hit a guard rail. She was taken to the hospital by Sherman volunteer firefighters for non-life threatening injuries.

¯ SHERMAN — Timothy Hostetler, 22, of Clymer was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated for having a blood-alcohol content of .18 percent or more, DWI, moving from lane unsafely and operating a motor vehicle while using an electronic device, at 1:29 a.m. Dec. 23 on Clymer-Sherman Road, Sherman. Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle rollover accident. Hostetler will be in Sherman Town Court later.

¯ DUNKIRK — Nicolas E. Dionne, 42, of Asheville, N.C., was charged with felony DWI (previous conviction within 10 years), passing a steady red signal and refusal of a pre-screen test at 1:13 a.m. Dec. 24 on Route 60 in the town of Dunkirk. According to a police report, deputies saw a vehicle fail to stop at a red light and pulled it over. Dionne will be in Dunkirk Town Court later.

¯ BROCTON — Robert C. Higgs, 36, of Brocton, was taken into custody Wednesday at 1 p.m. on a warrant after being located at an address on West Main Street in the village of Brocton. Higgs was wanted for failing to appear in Jamestown City Court for forcible touching and second-degree unlawful imprisonment. He was arraigned in court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.


¯ LAKEWOOD — Jordan T. Pollaro, 18, and Brooke L. Vincent, 19, both of Jamestown, were charged with petit larceny at 4 p.m. Dec. 26 at the Wal-Mart store in Lakewood. Police report they both tried to steal items from the store. Both will be in Busti Town Court later.
