NEW YORK STATE POLICE
¯ Matthew Mecusker, 29, of Bemus Point was charged with issuing a bad check. Troopers took Mecusker into custody on Monday after being notified in September from a local business claiming Mecusker in June gave them a bad check for more than $2,500 that came back returned. Attempts to get Mecusker to pay the balance were unsuccessful. Mecusker reportedly refused to turn himself in, and was taken into custody on a warrant. He was arraigned in North Harmony Town Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.
JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
¯ Chady L. Chamberlain of Jamestown was charged with third-degree criminal mischief. Officers responded at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday for a criminal mischief complaint. When police arrived, Chamberlain was observed walking across Cross Street away from a vehicle that had its windshield smashed. Chamberlain was taken into custody and transported to Jamestown City Jail without incident. He was held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
¯Antone V. Romanov, 30, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal mischief. Officers responded around 2 a.m. on Tuesday to Fairmount Avenue for a domestic dispute. Romanov was found to have allegedly broke a bedroom door by forcibly opening it, causing it to strike someone in the head. The victim suffered a severe laceration to the forehead as a result. Romanov was taken into custody without incident and transported to Jamestown City Jail.
¯ Andrew Hodges, 31, of Jamestown was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief. Officers responded at 8 p.m. on Tuesday to an address on Midgley Street for a reported physical domestic incident. Hodges allegedly restrained a woman from using her cellphone to call police for assistance. Hodges was taken into custody and held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
