An investigation is ongoing into a shooting last week in Jamestown that left one man injured.

No arrests have been made in the Oct. 12 shooting at an apartment complex at 95 Liberty St. in the city. After the unidentified victim was shot around 3 p.m., he walked from the apartments to the intersection of Fourth and Spring streets where he waved down a police officer.

The man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Not long after the shooting, police released a photo of two men believed to be connected to the incident. The suspects were described as black men wearing dark clothing, with one wearing red- or purple-colored jeans.

The two men reportedly entered the apartments and later fled the area after the shooting took place. They were last seen walking on Lakeview Avenue, police said.

Capt. Robert Samuelson said the Jamestown Police Department has received numerous tips regarding the shooting but couldn’t provide a further update. However, he did say the information received so far from the public has been “very helpful.”

Though no motive has been released, police said the shooting was likely not random.

“We do not believe that this was a random act of violence,” Samuelson said last week. “The shooter was likely targeting this location and this victim.”

Anyone with information regarding last week’s shooting is asked to contact Jamestown police at 483-7536 or leave an anonymous tip at 483-TIPS (8477) or through the Tips 411 cellphone app. All calls and tips are kept confidential.
