City Woman Charged In Thursday Robbery

A Jamestown woman was jailed after reportedly robbing a male of cash at gun point Thursday, the Jamestown Police Department reported.

Police responded to the area of Prendergast Avenue around 6 p.m. for a reported armed robbery. Officers were advised that a man had been robbed of cash and that the suspect had fled into the lower apartment of 625 Prendergast Ave.

Police learned the suspect then fled the rear of the apartment and was seen running down East Eighth Street toward North Main Street.

Officers later caught the suspect, later identified as 21-year-old Jillian R. Matthews, in the area of North Main and East Seventh streets. A search warrant used to enter the apartment turned up the alleged weapon used in the robbery.

The weapon was found to be a replica revolver.

The replica revolver allegedly used Thursday, the Jamestown Police Department reported.

Matthews was transported to Jamestown City Jail and charged with second-degree robbery and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
