Traffic Stop Nets Two On Drug Charges

Two Jamestown residents face charges after they were allegedly found in possession of drugs during a traffic stop Friday on River Street, Jamestown.

Jamestown police report pulling a vehicle over at 5:51 p.m. after several traffic infractions occurred.

The driver, Christopher S. Byrne, 56, of Jamestown, and the passenger, Heather M. Brown, 27, of Jamestown, were reportedly in possession of methamphetamine, heroin, marijuana and suboxone. Brown was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. Byrne was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance because heroin was allegedly found on his property as well. Byrne was also charged with obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest after allegedly failing to get out of his vehicle when officers told him to do so. Byrne also allegedly pulled away from officers when they attempted to charge him.

Brown and Byrne were taken to the Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment.
