Meth, Marijuana Found Following Traffic Stop

A Pennsylvania man was charged after several grams of methamphetamine and marijuana were discovered in a traffic stop Wednesday in the city.

Members of the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force, along with officers of the Jamestown Police Department, stopped a vehicle around 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of Douglas Place and Foote Avenue. The driver was identified as 55-year-old William L. Dale Sr. of Russell, Pa.

Officers learned Dale Sr.’s driving privileges in New York State were suspended, and an investigation led to the discovery of 11.5 grams of methamphetamine and 2.6 grams of marijuana within the vehicle.

In addition, 6 ounces of methamphetamine were discovered in another location, though police did not specify where.

Dale Sr. was charged with second- and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana. He was transported to Jamestown City Jail where he was being held pending arraignment.
