Jamestown Man Jailed In Theft At Bon-Ton

LAKEWOOD — A Jamestown man with a long history of thefts in the area was jailed Wednesday after reportedly stealing almost $500 worth of merchandise from a Lakewood store.

Officers with the Lakewood-Busti Police Department took 36-year-old Lisandro M. Sanchez into custody around 4 p.m. for petit larceny. Officers learned Sanchez allegedly stole merchandise from Bon-Ton, located at 318 E. Fairmount Ave. The merchandise totaled $490.91, police said.

Sanchez reportedly fled the store before he was located a short time later. He was arraigned in Busti Town Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail on $1,000 bail.

Sanchez is scheduled to appear back in court at a later date to answer the charge.

In April, Sanchez was charged with obstructing governmental administration after he allegedly fled from officers while being detained on an unrelated incident.

Sanchez was charged with petit larceny after reportedly stealing two iPads on March 28, 2016, from the Lakewood Wal-Mart. In April 2014, he was charged after allegedly stealing $148 worth of merchandise from Sears at the Chautauqua Mall.

In December 2013, Sanchez was charged with petit larceny, unlawful possession of personal identification information, resisting arrest and third-degree assault.

A woman notified police her debit card was stolen during a time Sanchez has visited her home.
