Three Charged With Drug Possession Following Traffic Stop
Three Jamestown residents were charged with drug possession following a traffic stop Saturday in the city.
Officers with the Jamestown Police Department observed a vehicle driving on the wrong side of the road around noon on Bowen at Bush streets. The driver was identified as 34-year-old Richard Hanson, who was determined to be driving in an impaired condition, JPD said in a news release.
During a search, officers discovered a “quantity of methamphetamine” in the vehicle, some of which reportedly was packaged for sale.
Hanson and passengers Robert Comber and Alicia Machado, both 23, were taken into custody and all three were charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Hanson was also charged with driving while ability impaired. Comber was additionally charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, a felony, and second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia.
All three city residents were transported to Jamestown City Jail where they were being held on bail.
