Credit Card Skimmer Device Found At Local Gas Station
Lakewood-Busti police recovered a credit card skimmer Monday that was reportedly placed inside a gas pump at the Mobile Gas Station, located at the corner of East Fairmount Avenue and Southwestern Drive.
A credit card skimmer, a device affixed to the mouth of a card reader that can extract credit and debit card information, has been responsible for more than 80 percent of ATM fraud nationwide, according to the U.S. Secret Service.
Anyone that may have paid at Mobile Gas Station pump with a credit card is advised to check their bank account for any fraudulent credit card use.
Lakewood-Busti police advise the public to contact their local police agency when dealing with any unauthorized use of a credit card.
