Manhunt For Sinclairville Escapee Continues
A manhunt continues for 34-year-old Jacob M. Raynor, the Sinclairville man who escaped custody Tuesday following an arraignment at Charlotte Town Court.
Joe Gerace, Chautauqua County sheriff, said police are actively collecting information and investigating leads.
No further details have been released.
Raynor is not believed to be armed or dangerous. He is described as 6 feet tall, 170 pounds and was last known to be handcuffed and wearing a black shirt and black hat.
Raynor reportedly escaped from custody while being escorted to a patrol car from Charlotte Town Court shortly before noon Tuesday.
Gerace said Raynor was handcuffed in the front due to injuries sustained to his arm from a previous incident.
“Normally he would have been handcuffed in the back, which would have changed a lot,” Gerace said. “Your ability to run is much less likely when your hands are behind your back.”
Gerace said the deputy escorting Raynor didn’t do anything wrong, but was merely accomodating Raynor due to his injuries.
