Cattaraugus County Crash Sends Three To ECMC
ASHFORD — A two-car accident in Ashford landed three people in the hospital Wednesday.
According to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office, 60-year-old Brian E. Grzybowski of Forestville was traveling on Route 219 in a 2002 Toyota Camry, when shortly after 11:37 a.m., he spun out of control and was struck by a southbound 2006 Dodge Caravan.
The driver of the Caravan — 46-year-old Luay S. Alani of Amherst — and Grzybowski were taken to Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo for trauma to the extremities.
A passenger in Grzybowski’s vehicle — 60-year-old Carolyn J. Grzybowski — was taken by Mercy Flight to ECMC for head trauma.
Police said the accident is under investigation and charges are pending.
Deputies were assisted by Ellicottville police, West Valley Fire, Ellicottville/Great Valley Ambulance and Mercy Ambulance.
