JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯David D. Johnson, 48, of Lakewood was charged Sunday with second-degree criminal contempt and aggravated Family Offense. At 8:20 p.m., police responded to 48 Sturges St. for a report of a disorderly person. Police located Johnson in the upper apartment and learned that a valid order of protection required him to stay away from the residence and the victim inside. Johnson was taken to the city jail to await arraignment.

¯Nicholas C. Brown, 26, of Rochester, was charged on Jan. 4 with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. At 10:49 a.m., police responded to 39 W. 12th St. for a report of suspicious people. Police reportedly found several people inside the vacant residence. One of them, Brown, was allegedly in possession of metal knuckles. He was taken to the city jail to await arraignment.

¯Matthew Best, 44, of Jamestown was charged Saturday with second-degree criminal contempt. At 8:44 p.m., police completed an order of protection check at Thayer Street residence and found Best and another individual inside. A valid order of protection allegedly required Best to stay away from the victim. Best is being held pending arraignment.

¯Vincent D. Carper, 38, of Jamestown was charged Saturday with a parole warrant and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. At 10:17 a.m., police observed Carper, who allegedly had a parole warrant, walking down Falconer Street. Police apprehended him and allegedly found a switchblade in his possession. He was taken to the city jail to await arraignment.

¯Richard M. Zorn, 22, of Warren, Pa., was charged Friday with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se and speed in zone. At 2:35 a.m., police pulled over Zorn for allegedly speeding on Harrison Street. It is alleged that Zorn was intoxicated. He was taken to the city jail to await arraignment.

LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯A 16-year-old from Jamestown was recently charged with fourth-degree grand larceny. On Nov. 23, police took a report of a larceny of a purse. It is alleged that the 16-year-old stole the purse. The teenager was located, arraigned in Busti Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.

¯Alicia M. Machado, 22, of Lakewood was recently charged with petit larceny. On Dec. 23, police took a complaint of a larceny of toys from a Lakewood store. It is alleged that Machado stole the merchandise. Machado was scheduled to appear in Busti Court at a later date.

¯Rosa Lopez, 27, of Jamestown was charged on Jan. 10 with petit larceny and third-degree burglary. At 8:45 p.m., Lopez was charged after allegedly stealing merchandise from the Lakewood Wal-Mart. Lopez had been banned from Wal-Mart property because she allegedly stole from the store in the past. She was given an appearance ticket for Busti Court.

¯Rosanna Maria Rodriguez, 23, of Jamestown was charged on Jan. 3 with petit larceny. At 6:45 p.m., Rodriguez was charged after allegedly stealing merchandise from the Lakewood Wal-Mart. She was given an appearance ticket for Busti Court.

¯Anabell Rodriguez, 44, of Jamestown was charged on Jan. 10 for petit larceny. At 8:32 a.m., Rodriguez was charged after allegedly stealing several brands of perfume from the Lakewood Wal-Mart. She was given an appearance ticket for Busti Court.

ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯Amanda C. Spitale, 27, of West Ellicott was recently charged with fourth-degree grand larceny. In December, police took a report of a stolen credit card from a female victim in West Ellicott. Further investigation revealed that the victim had two bank cards and a credit card stolen from her. All three cards had been used for nearly $2,500. It is alleged that Spitale took the cards from the victim’s purse at different times. She was remanded to the county jail.

¯Nicholas J. Kanaby, 38, of Falconer was charged on Jan. 5 with second-degree obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest. At 10:35 p.m., police responded to a Falconer business for an alleged domestic dispute. It is alleged that Kanaby was involved in the incident in a nearby residence. He was committed to the county jail in lieu of bail and scheduled to appear in Ellicott Court at a later date.

¯Sonya D. Walczak, 22, of Jamestown was charged on Jan. 5 with petit larceny. At 9:35 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting complaint at a Falconer business. It is alleged that Walczak was stealing merchandise. She was given an appearance ticket for Ellicott Court.

¯Kristina D. Joy, 31, of Jamestown was charged on Jan. 3 with second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia. At 5:10 p.m., police pulled over a vehicle and determined that the front-seat passenger — Joy — was allegedly in possession of drug paraphernalia. Joy was scheduled to appear in Ellicott Court at a later date.

¯Micheal L. Bentley, 21, of Buffalo was charged Saturday with unlawful possession of marijuana and speeding. At 1:53 p.m., police pulled over Bentley on Route 60 near Moon Road for allegedly speeding. It is alleged that Bentley was in possession of marijuana. He is scheduled to appear in Ellicott Court on Jan. 31 at 6 p.m.

¯Michael Mcintyre, 36, of Lakewood was charged Saturday with petit larceny. At 7:30 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting complaint at Wegmans. It is alleged that Mcintyre stole merchandise. He was scheduled to appear in Ellicott Court at a later date.

¯David Soderberg, 27, of Jamestown was charged Saturday with second-degree harassment, obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and criminal possession of a hypodermic needle. At 8:09 p.m., police responded to an Ellicott residence for a reported disorderly person. Police attempted to apprehend Soderberg for an alleged harassment charge, but Soderberg reportedly resisted arrest. Police allegedly found a syringe in his possession. He was remanded to the county jail and scheduled to appear in Ellicott Court at a later date.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯PORTLAND–Andrew S. Betts, 34, of Portland was charged Sunday with DWI, driving while ability impaired, unlawful possession of marijuana and parked on pavement. On Jan. 15, deputies received a call about a vehicle on Route 380 in Portland with an unconscious person at the wheel. It is alleged that the driver–Betts–was intoxicated. Hr was given appearance tickets for Portland Court.

¯KIANTONE–Dennis M. Denardi, 55, of Warren, Pa., was charged Sunday with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and failure to maintain lane. At 1:45 a.m., deputies pulled over Denardi on Kiantone Road in Kiantone for an observed traffic infraction. It is alleged that Denardi had a revoked driver’s license for a prior DWI offense. He was scheduled to appear in Kiantone Court next month.

¯ELLERY–Aaron J. Clark, 29, of Fredonia was charged on Jan. 12 with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and speed in zone. Cark E. Swanson, 26, of Stow was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. At 6:53 p.m., deputies pulled over Clark on Bemus Ellery Road in Ellery for allegedly speeding. It is alleged that a quantity of methamphetamine and marijuana was recovered from Clark and his passenger, Swanson. Both were scheduled to appear in Ellery Court at a later date.
