City Man Jailed In Choking Incident

A Jamestown man was jailed Saturday after police said he choked a female victim in a domestic dispute.

Jamestown police responded at 1 p.m. to 114 Palmer St. for a reported dispute involving a male and female. When they arrived, officers found a female victim visibly upset and crying.

Officers learned 25-year-old Jayrd A. Clark allegedly restrained and choked the victim during the dispute.

Clark also reportedly caused damage to doors, walls and a cooking stove. The city man fled the residence prior to the arrival of police. He was located a short time later by Ellicott police in the village of Falconer.

Clark was taken into custody and transported to Jamestown City Jail without further incident. He was charged with unlawful imprisonment, criminal mischief and criminal obstruction of breathing.
