Falconer Woman Accused Of Injuring 6-Month-Old Son

A Falconer woman is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly injuring her infant son.

According to John Zuroski, first assistant district attorney for Chautauqua County, Ashley R. Lee, 26, is accused of inflicting serious physical injury to her child on Oct. 13.

Her child was reportedly less than 6 months old at the time.

While Zuroski could not confirm the condition of the child or the nature of the alleged incident, he indicated that Lee was charged with reckless assault of a child — a charge that requires serious physical injury to the brain of a child less than 5 years old by means of shaking, slamming or throwing.

Zuroski said that Lee was additionally charged with first-degree reckless endangerment for alleged incidents between May and October.

Both charges are class D felonies, with a maximum possible sentence of 7 years in prison for each.

Lee was arraigned in Chautauqua County Court on Nov. 7. A pre-motion conference is scheduled for Nov. 21.

It was previously reported that Lee was charged in March with felonies relating to a welfare fraud investigation.

It is alleged that Lee applied for and started receiving SNAP/food stamp benefits at the beginning of May 2015.

Later that same month, Lee’s husband started working and receiving income. Lee began working herself in June 2015 and allegedly never reported her income or the income of her husband.

As a result, Lee allegedly received $2,044 in unentitled food stamp benefits for July  through October 2015.
