A Busti woman has been charged with manslaughter in the death of a man found in April in Cattaraugus County.

The State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation out of Jamestown arrested Marylou Johnson, 73, on Friday for second-degree manslaughter, second-degree vehicular manslaughter, second-degree assault, driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident without reporting serious injury.

State Police stationed out of the Jamestown barracks responded to Swanson Hill Road in Randolph on April 21 for a report of an unidentified deceased male who was discovered by a passing ATV rider. Further investigation revealed the victim to be Wilfredo Rodriguez-Colon, 48 of Busti.

The State Police investigation included a detailed examination of the scene and interviews of the people who were with Colon when he was last seen. The interviews and evidence collected from the scene led investigators to a vehicle allegedly involved in Colon’s death. Further investigation and interviews were conducted by investigators. The case was then presented to a Cattaraugus County Grand Jury by the Cattaraugus County District Attorney’s Office and an arrest warrant issued on Wednesday.

Johnson was arrested and processed at the State Police at Jamestown barracks. She was arraigned in Cattaraugus County Court Friday.
