Curtain Up At Lucille Ball Little Theatre
The Lucille Ball Little Theatre recently completed renovations to its staging area in order to enhance the theatre experience, both for performers and guests.
According to Bob Ostrom, Lucille Ball Little Theatre board of directors president, the theatre’s previous fly system was removed and partially replaced several years ago due to safety concerns.
The fly system is a system of rope lines, pulleys, counterweights and other components which allows the stage crew to quickly, quietly and safely change curtains, lights, scenery and more during a live performance.
The new fly system, as well as new curtaining for the theatre, was recently installed.
“We are grateful to the local foundations for this funding,” Ostrom said. “This renovation is important for the future of community theatre.”
Grants from the Lenna Foundation, Holmberg Foundation and Chautauqua Region Community Foundation provided funding for the project.
