State Trooper Vehicle Struck, Fuel Truck Fire Reported During Hectic Morning

No injuries were reported after a state trooper vehicle was struck on Interstate 86 in the town of North Harmony. No injuries were reported in the collision, which occurred when the trooper was assisting with another snow-related accident on the Southern Tier Expressway.

The crash was just one of several reported throughout Chautauqua County, many for vehicles off the road.

Firefighters were summoned near the area of Bemus-Ellery Road for a vehicle in a ditch with its occupants unable to get out. Another crash was reported on Route 60; Sinclairville and Gerry firefighters were called after one person was said to have an arm injury.

In Sheridan, police and fire crews were called to a roll-over crash on Chapin Road. At least one occupant reportedly suffered a medical emergency and additional EMS was called.

Meanwhile, Fluvanna firefighters were called for a fuel truck on fire on Airport Drive. The fire was doused shortly thereafter.

A vehicle roll-over was reported around 11 a.m. on Lawson Road in the town of Busti. No injuries were reported in the crash.

Ashville and Sherman firefighters were called to I-86 at 11:05 a.m. for a crash in the eastbound lane. One person requested an evaluation.
