Crews Battle Flagg Avenue Structure Fire

Jamestown firefighters were called to a structure fire Friday afternoon on Flagg Avenue.

The fire was reported around 3:15 p.m., with heavy smoke seen coming from the rear of the residence.

Off-shift personnel were called to assist. The cause of the blaze wasn’t immediately available.

Sam Salemme, Jamestown battalion chief, told The Post-Journal firefighters felt “an explosion” come from the back of the property when they arrived. He said it was too soon pinpoint a possible cause for the explosion.

No injuries were reported.
