Suspect Held Over For Action By Chautauqua County Grand Jury

Brian Korzeniewski

The suspect charged in the murder of a city man last week was held over for action from a grand jury.

A preliminary hearing was held Friday in Jamestown City Court for Brian M. Korzeniewski before Judge Fred Larson. The court ruled that there was sufficient evidence to hold Korzeniewski until a grand jury could meet.

The 51-year-old city man is facing a second-degree murder charge in the killing of Michael A. Bull.

With the preliminary hearing complete, the District Attorney’s Office will have 45 days to put together a case and present it to a grand jury. Grand jurors will determine if there is probable cause for the case to go to trial.

On the morning of Saturday, Aug. 19, officers with the Jamestown Police Department discovered the body of Bull lying face down in the parking lot outside his apartment in the 500 block of East Sixth Street. Bull was located between two parked sedans and was found to have died from blunt-force trauma, police said.

Investigation by Jamestown Police, the Chautauqua County District Attorney’s Office and the Chautauqua County Forensic Team led to the charges of Korzeniewski hours after.

Korzeniewski is being held in the Chautauqua County Jail without bail. He is being represented by the Chautauqua County Public Defender’s Office.
