Mayville Man Leads Sheriff’s Deputies On High-Speed Chase
A Mayville man faces charges after allegedly leading Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies on a high-speed chase Friday morning.
Accordin to a police report, deputies saw a person wanted for a parole violation and misdemeanor arrest warrant at 9:30 a.m. Friday on Beaujean Road, Mayville. Deputies tried to pull the vehicle over when the driver sped away, reaching speeds of nearly 100 miles an hour before pulling into a driveway. The man then ran away before he was caught by deputies.
Michael S. Hannold, 41, of Mayville, was charged with third-degree unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, reckless driving, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and cited for speed over 55 miles an hour. He will be in Chautauqua Town Court on the new charges and was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail with no bail for the parole violation.
