Pair Arrested After Meth Found In Traffic Stop

A traffic stop in the city Tuesday led to the discovery of methamphetamine and meth-making materials.

Shortly after 1 a.m., New York state troopers pulled over a 2002 Dodge Neon for an alleged traffic violation in the area of Sixth and North Main streets.

The driver, 26-year-old Sean D. Barrett of Dewittville, reportedly had an arrest warrant out of the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office. He allegedly had a small amount of methamphetamine.

Meth-making making materials were later located in the vehicle. Morgan E. Keech, 22, of Stockton was a passenger.

Barrett and Keech were charged with third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Barrett was additionally charged with driving while intoxicated. Both were taken to the State Police barracks in Jamestown for processing.

They are scheduled to be arraigned in Jamestown City Court.

The New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team arrived at the scene to remove dangerous materials from the scene. State Police were assisted by the Jamestown Police Department, the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force and the Jamestown Fire Department.
