Jamestown Man Charged After Confining Woman For Two Days

A Jamestown man was charged Sunday after allegedly holding a woman captive in his apartment for two days.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, the female victim alleged that 31-year-old Joshua I. Turybury held her against her will at 66 McDaniel Ave. Apt. A-1 from early morning Friday to early morning Sunday, when she reportedly escaped.

Police said the victim sustained severe bruising, a broken nose and a chipped tooth while subjected to mental, verbal and physical abuse. She was taken to UPMC Chautauqua WCA.

Police apprehended Turybury at his residence Sunday and charged him with second-degree kidnapping, second-degree assault, two counts of criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, third-degree criminal mischief and fourth-degree criminal mischief. He was arraigned Monday in Jamestown City Court.

Police said Turybury and the victim were acquaintances and that the victim had voluntarily visited his apartment. The kidnapping charge stems from her unlawful confinement and the extent of her injuries, according to police.
