Injured Police Dog Recovering, Will Lead Christmas Parade
The Jamestown Police Department’s K-9 “Mitchell,” who was stabbed and wounded Nov. 15 during the apprehension of accused murderer Keith L. Robbins, is recovering and in good spirits.
The city of Jamestown announced that Mitchell will be recognized as the Christmas Parade’s Grand Marshall, an honor that has never been extended to an animal before. Mitchell, along with his handler, Officer Erik Kraft, will lead the parade down Third Street along with their patrol car when the parade begins at approximately 6:30 p.m. today.
