3 Motocross Motorcycles Stolen In City Burglary

Three small motocross motorcycles were taken in a morning burglary at Hector’s Powersports in Jamestown. All three motorcycles were recovered.

Jamestown police on Tuesday investigated the theft of three small motocross motorcycles from a city business. The suspects involved were later identified as 16-year-old juveniles.

Two of the mini motorcycles were recovered shortly after the burglary around 6 a.m. at Hector’s Powersports, 1200 E. Second St.

According to Jamestown police, two people entered the business after breaking a window while a third person waited outside. After exiting the building, the suspects were reportedly seen walking on Clyde Avenue pushing at least one of the motorcycles.

Capt. Robert Samuelson of the Jamestown Police Department said two of the motorcycles were found close by concealed in a wooded area near the Jamestown Community College campus.

The third motorcycle was located by investigators in a yard behind a Newton Avenue home.

“The investigation will continue with a follow-up investigation and charges through the Juvenile Bureau of the JPD,” the department said in a press release.

Anyone with information regarding the burglary is asked to call Jamestown police at 483-7537 or at 483-TIPS (8477). Information can also be left through the Tips 411 cellphone app.
