Dunkirk Man Sentenced In 2017 Narcotics Case

A Dunkirk man has been sentenced to more than six years in prison after being convicted for possessing with intent to sell controlled substances. The U.S. Attorney’s Office on Thursday announced the 78-month sentence to 40-year-old Anthony Dloniak by U.S. District Judge Elizabeth A. Wolford.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Brendan T. Cullinane, who handled the case, said that beginning in May 2017, law enforcement officers began recovering packages addressed to Dloniak from China and the Netherlands, all of which contained either U-47700 or MDMA (also known as ecstasy), both of which are Schedule I controlled substances.

On Sept. 7, 2017, officers executed a search warrant at Dloniak’s residence and recovered “controlled substances and items used in the distribution of controlled substances,” the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

Items found include a quantity of U-4770, scales, a vacuum sealing system, packaging material, a ledger, a book titled “How to Manufacture Methamphetamine” and $12,650 in cash.

The sentencing was the culmination of an investigation on the part of Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
