Summer Concert Series Ends Thursday
CHERRY CREEK — The 2018 Cherry Creek Summer Gazebo Concert Series will conclude Thursday evening with the music of Slim Griffin and The Country Gentlemen and a community picnic. The public is welcome to attend.
This final event of the 2018 Summer Gazebo Concert Series will be held in the pavilion of the Ballpark on Main Street, with the community picnic set to begin at 6 p.m., and the concert following at 6:30 p.m. Those planning to attend are reminded to bring a dish to pass and their own table service. The beverage will be provided.
Slim Griffin and The Country Gentlemen have performed in every Gazebo Concert Series since it began. Always a favorite of local audiences, they excel at the genre of classic country music.
“They play their own favorites, and they make them our favorites, too,” said Brenda Hendricks of the Cherry Creek Community Association Inc. “They are a staple in our concert series. This year our series has been titled ‘Family Ties,’ and we tried to stay true to the theme as we planned the season. Our goal was to include something for everyone.”
“The Community Association would like to thank everyone who participated in the concert series this season. As we conclude the 2018 season, we are looking forward to next year. We hope to see all our familiar friends next year, and look forward to meeting new friends as well,” she added.
The 2018 Cherry Creek Summer Gazebo Concert Series is sponsored by the Cherry Creek Community Association Inc., and funded in part by the state Council On The Arts Decentralization Program with support from the state Legislature and Gov. Andrew Cuomo and administered by the Cattaraugus County Arts Council. This program is also supported by the Town of Cherry Creek and community members.
