Motorcyclist Killed In Cherry Creek Crash Sunday

CHERRY CREEK — A motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Farrington Hollow Road in Cherry Creek, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies report Jassen Sherman, 47, of Falconer, allegedly failed to yield the right of way when backing out of a driveway at 6:44 p.m., causing his vehicle to be struck by a motorcycle travelling northbound on Farrington Hollow Road. Paul W. Diaz, 50, of Cherry Creek and a rider of the motorcycle were taken to Brooks Memorial Hospital; Diaz later died from his injuries, the Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.

Sherman was cited for failure to yield the right of way when entering the road and will be in Cherry Creek Town Court later.

The Cherry Creek Fire Department, Cassadaga Fire Department, Alstar Ambulance and Starflight responded to the crash.
