Cause Of Blaze At Vacant Property Under Investigation
Jamestown fire investigators were still looking into a blaze that broke out at a vacant three-story home early Monday.
No injuries were reported in the fire at 429 Allen St. that occurred around 2 a.m. According to Andrew Finson, battalion chief with the Jamestown Fire Department, the structure was completely engulfed by flames when crews arrived.
Due to the size of the blaze, firefighters took up positions outside and used multiple hose lines to douse the home. An emergency demolition was later ordered on the property
Crews were on scene until 7 a.m., Finson said.
“The cause has not yet been released. It’s still under investigation,” Finson said of the blaze. “We can say that it was vacant and that utilities –at least gas and electric — were disconnected.”
