The 35th annual World Series of Wheels, formerly the World Series of Cars, will be held in Jamestown on Sunday, July 22.

The event’s major sponsor is Dave Warren Dodge Ram for the second year. In addition to Dave Warren, senior sponsors include JS Auto Parts Plus and Chautauqua Pools & Power Sports, also for the second year. Primary sponsors are State Farm Insurance – David Snow Agent, Truck-Lite Co., Inc., Combined Life — Brian Conklin and Cummins Engine.

The World Series of Wheels was started in 1984 as a way to help defray the expense of hosting a Babe Ruth World Series here in Jamestown.

Jamestown has been successful not only in the car show, but also in hosting 17 World Series events from 1980 through 2018. In addition to the car show the board is preparing for the upcoming 16-18-Year-Old Babe Ruth World Series to be held at Russell E. Diethrick Park from Aug. 4-11 and is making preliminary plans for 2020. Each one of the series has showcased young baseball talent from all over the United States in addition to bringing an economic boost to the Jamestown area.

Additions to this year’s World Series of Wheels include an expansion to include power sports, motorcycles and bicycles; a motorcycle run hosted by the Brothers by Choice, which takes will take place with registration beginning at 9 a.m. and kickstands up at 10:30 a.m.

In addition there will be a bounce house for children and an improved craft and vendor area featuring local craft artists, LuLaRoe, Tastefully Simple, Paparazzi jewelry and others. The Meals on Wheels Organization will be hosting a breakfast at the Bergman Park Pavilion from 7-11 a.m. In addition food vendors will be there until 5 p.m., including a chicken barbecue.

The World Series of Cars in one of the primary fundraising events for the Babe Ruth World Series and this year’s 35th annual show to be held in Bergman Park on Baker Street in Jamestown will be no exception. This year also includes a change from an AACA-judged show to a participant judged show as done in 2017.

Registration forms for vehicle entry and craft and vendor fair forms are available on the organization’s website, jamestownworldseries.org. For more information, call Kim at 664-0405.
