First Responders To Be Recognized During EMS Week

W.C.A. Services Corporation said it plans to celebrate local emergency medical services responders who provide the day-to-day lifesaving services of medicine’s front-line during National EMS Week. A celebration picnic will be held Thursday for the hundreds of emergency medical services first responders throughout the region.

Celebrations will be held in the north county Friday.

“For every call, every late night, every precious life saved, we extend our thanks to all the EMS champions for answering the call,” said David Thomas, director, W.C.A. Services Corporation. “We depend upon these highly-skilled responders to provide life-saving pre-hospital care at a moment’s notice. This week gives us an occasion to acknowledge the people on the front-line of emergency care.”

ALSTAR EMS provide services including, advanced life support, basic life support, fly car service, wheelchair van service, training, community outreach and event coverage. W.C.A. Services Corporation has been providing health related business services for more than 30 years. The EMS service, through the ALSTAR EMS and Starflight divisions, has provided medical transportation both emergent and non-emergent to over 400,000 patients since inception.
