Silver Creek Voters Approve Capital Project
SILVER CREEK — The voters of the Silver Creek school district approved a $17.6 million capital project Tuesday, 287-85. Among other things, the project looks to transform key areas of the school to more adequately support the growing special needs population.
Once the project is completed, six new elementary classrooms will be added, giving the necessary space for teachers to educate their student body.
According to a district press release, the project “addresses planned maintenance across the buildings and campus — focuses on energy, efficiency, technology, health, safety and addresses the ever-increasing needs of the district’s diversified student population while creating no tax increase.”
The project also includes an expanded security and new communications system, transportation facility addition and an improved accessibility and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance both indoors and outdoors, as well as more parking spots.
