RANDOLPH — A Randolph man is facing felony drunken driving charges after he was spotted driving the wrong way on Interstate 86 in the town of Randolph on Wednesday morning.

Cattaraugus County sheriff’s deputies were alerted around 12:45 a.m. of an eastbound vehicle in the westbound lane of I-86. Deputies spotted the car, and identified the driver as 59-year-old John R. Fellows of Randolph.

Fellows was administered field sobriety tests and provided a breath sample, the Sheriff’s Office said in a press release. He was determined to be intoxicated and charged with driving the wrong way on a one-way street as well as aggravated driving while intoxicated and aggravated DWI with a blood-alcohol content of .18 percent or higher, both felonies.

Fellows was released and is scheduled to appear March 8 in Randolph Town Court to answer the charges.
