Members of the Lakewood Legion Auxiliary presented a check in the amount of $1,200 to Wings Flights of Hope on Wednesday. Pictured, from left, are: Christophena Decker, junior auxiliary member; Cindy Decker, Lakewood Auxiliary vice president; Pete Parsons, Wings Flights of Hope volunteer; and Lisa Hanselman, Lakewood Auxiliary president. Hanselman said the money was raised in December under the auxiliary’s previous president, Susan Chapman, who selected Wings Flights of Hope as the organization to which the money would be donated. Wings Flights of Hope is an all-volunteer organization which helps medical patients get medical treatment by having private volunteer pilots fly them to and from their medical destination. All of this is free of charge, as the pilots donate 100 percent of their time, plane and all costs including fuel. “Thank you for helping us to help others, and to make a real difference in someone’s life,” Parsons said, following the check presentation.
