City Man Charged After Stolen Vehicle Found At Family Court

A Jamestown man is facing charges after being spotted in a stolen vehicle in the parking lot of Chautauqua County Family Court in Mayville.

Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies took 19-year-old Randolph Perkins III into custody Monday after a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee was reported stolen from the Dave Warren dealership on Washington Street in Jamestown over the weekend. The vehicle was reported stolen by its owner to Jamestown police.

A description of the vehicle was reported over radio broadcast, and around 11:40 a.m. the Jeep was located at 2 Academy St. in Mayville, the location of Family Court.

The vehicle was spotted by a deputy assigned to the court.

Perkins III, along with “several other subjects,” was found inside the Jeep, the Sheriff’s Office said in a press release. He was charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

The vehicle was turned over to its owner.

More charges are expected against Perkins III through the Jamestown Police Department.
