The Reg Lenna Center for the Arts is once again inviting the community to ring in the holiday season against a musical backdrop of local and regional performers.

On Saturday, the Reg will host its “Home for the Holidays 2: Christmas at The Reg” concert from 4-6 p.m., during which time a wide variety of acts comprised of musicians from in and around the area will perform a menagerie of holiday songs from its theater stage at 116 E. Third St. in Jamestown.

Hosted by Dennis Drew, WRFA-LP 107.9 FM general manager and a founding member of 10,000 Maniacs, the concert is a follow-up to last year’s inaugural holiday-themed show, which was extremely well received by its audience. After an overwhelming amount of positive feedback immediately following the show, the Reg staff quickly decided to reprise the community concert for a second time and budget it into its 2017-18 season programming.

“The response we got from last year’s show was immediate and probably tenfold to that of any of our other programs,” said Len Barry, the Reg’s director of marketing and communications. “We committed to doing another show before 2017 even rolled around, with a mix of new and returning musicians.”

This year’s concert will again feature a variety of musical styles including ensemble choirs, rock ‘n’ roll, R&B, big band jazz, folk and a few surprises. Performers include: Panama Concert Choir; Russell and Hamels; Southwestern Choraliers; Pearl City Jazz, featuring Razz Rasmussen; Jamestown High School Madrigal Singers; Bill Ward & Friends; Cold Lazarus; Svenska Spelman; and Ron Orbach, Marla Harris and Steve Davis, who will be returning from last year’s lineup.

Tickets to “Home for the Holidays 2” start at $5 for children under 18 and $10 for adults. They can be purchased in advance by calling the Reg Lenna Box Office at 484-7070 or online at reglenna.com. Limited “Pay What You Can” seats will be available beginning one hour before the concert.

“Home for the Holidays 2: Christmas at The Reg” is sponsored by Comfort Inn of Jamestown, Key Bank and New York State Council on the Arts.
