Vehicle Hits Gas Well, Takes Off
Police were looking for a vehicle Friday that reportedly struck a gas well in Sinclairville before taking off.
Firefighters and police were summoned to 7479 N. Hill Road shortly after 4 p.m. for the crash. A 911 dispatcher said a vehicle had struck a gas well, causing a minor leak.
While en route, officers were notified that the driver of the vehicle had fled the scene and was traveling north toward Cassadaga. The vehicle was described as a dark-colored SUV.
Firefighters from Sinclairville, Cassadaga and Gerry were called to assist Friday. The gas was quickly shut off at the location, dispatchers reported.
As of press time Friday, police had not announced if the driver had been located or if any charges had been filed related to the incident.
