TRC Supervisor Charged With Using Client Funds

A site supervisor with The Resource Center has been charged for allegedly using client funds for personal use.

Ellicott police charged 41-year-old Kelly M. McLane of Sinclairville after they were contacted on Sept. 13 by The Resource Center, a non-profit organization that provides training and educational services to the disabled, located at 200 Dunham Ave.

Following an investigation, McLane was charged with petit larceny.

According to Steve Waterson, community relations director with The Resource Center, the non-profit became aware of “misappropriated funds” belonging to McLane’s clients and notified police. It wasn’t known how much money had been taken.

Waterson said McLane’s employment was terminated as a result of the investigation.

In January, McLane was recognized by The Resource Center for 10 years of service with the organization.

McLane was issued appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Ellicott Town Court at a later date to answer the charge.
