Cherry Creek Concert Series Ends Thursday

CHERRY CREEK — The 2017 Cherry Creek Summer Gazebo Concert Series will draw to a close Thursday evening with the music of Slim Griffin and the Country Gentlemen. Music begins at 6:30 and will conclude at 8:30 p.m. The concert venue will be the pavilion of the ballpark on Main Street in the village.

As a special event to celebrate another successful concert season, a Community Picnic will be held at 5 p.m. Those planning to attend should bring a dish to pass and their own table service. Beverage will be provided. Although there are picnic tables and benches in the pavilion, those planning to stay for the concert may prefer their own lawn chairs for seating.

Slim Griffin and the Country Gentlemen have been entertaining audiences for many years and are quite popular with local audiences.

“This group’s musical style certainly fits this season’s theme,” said Brenda Hendricks of the Cherry Creek Community Association, Inc. “The theme of this concert season has been Country Time Music and Dance, and this group really enjoys playing while folks dance. And there’s plenty of room in the pavilion for dancing. It will be a great way to end the season.”

The 2017 Cherry Creek Gazebo Concert Series is sponsored by the Cherry Creek Community Association Inc., and funded in part by the NYS Council On The Arts Decentralization Regrant Program, with support from the NYS Legislature, and Governor Andrew Cuomo and administered by the Cattaraugus County Arts Council. This program is also supported by area businesses, the Town and Village of Cherry Creek and community members.
