FHS To Hold 5-Hour Course

A five-hour pre-licensing driving course will be held at Frewsburg High School on Monday, Aug. 28 and Tuesday, Aug. 29, from 6-8:30 p.m. The cost is $25. Preregister by calling the guidance office at 569-7026 between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday. When calling, please make sure you have your permit on hand.

Church To Hold Blueberry Social

The East Otto United Methodist Church will hold a Blueberry Social and Flea Market from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Hamburgers, hot dogs, coleslaw, baked beans, corn on the cob, blueberry crisp and shortcake will be served. Takeouts will be available and a bake sale will also be held. Celtic music will be provided by The Everheart Band.

Happy Days To Perform Saturday

Happy Days will perform in the Herman Kent Post on Saturday. The post will host a chicken barbecue from noon-6 p.m. on Sunday. The cost is $10 per person.

Sunday School Kickoff Is Sunday

The Conewango Valley United Methodist Church, 5517 Church St., Conewango Valley, will hold a Children’s Sunday School Kick-off for ages 3 and up, from 8:30-9:15 a.m. Sunday. Included will be Bible stories, movies, games, plays, singing, crafts and a Bible book store. Children attending should take their bible and bring a friend to learn about Jesus together. Physician Open House Tuesday

Residents of Chautauqua County will get the chance to tour the inside of the newly renovated Great Lakes Physician Practice, at an open house for the public from 4-6 p.m., on Tuesday. Located at the Riverwalk Center Medical Mall at 15 S. Main St., Jamestown, the community open house is an opportunity to meet the physicians, tour the new and renovated facilities, and get important information about your personal health care. Attendees can take a self-guided tour of the facilities including the UPMC Chautauqua WCA endoscopy and outpatient laboratory suites; tour Chautauqua Physical & Occupational Therapy’s therapy clinic and the Live Well Center; take advantage of free blood pressure screenings; and learn how to monitor your own blood pressure. Guests can learn CPR techniques courtesy of Chautauqua County Health and Human Services.

County To Host Rabies Clinic

ELLINGTON — The Chautauqua County Health and Human Services Department’s Division of Public Health will host a free rabies vaccination clinic in Chautauqua County from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the Ellington Highway Garage, Route 62, Ellington. Dr. Mary Fales is the veterinarian. The clinic is sponsored by the town of Ellington. Vaccinations will be provided free of charge to all dogs, cats and domesticated ferrets three months of age and older. All pets must be on a leash or in a cage and pet owners should bring rabies vaccination records for each animal that will be receiving a shot to ensure proper and effective vaccination.
