Resource Center Dedicates Facility In Memory Of Michael Felice
The Resource Center facility located at 92 Fairmount Ave. will now be known as the Felice Corporation Center.
On Friday, The Resource Center officials, family and friends gathered at the facility to dedicate the building in tribute to the late Michael J. Felice for his contributions on behalf of people with disabilities. The building is the office location for Filling The Gap Inc., which works with The Resource Center to improve the lives of people with disabilities.
Felice’s wife, Laura, and his youngest daughter, Jennifer, both gave tear-filled comments during the dedication, stating that they love and miss Felice.
Felice’s work with The Resource Center started soon after Jennifer was born and began receiving support services from The Resource Center. He served on The Resource Center’s board for 13 years starting in 1979 and served terms as both president and vice president. Felice also served on the boards of the corporations that operate under the umbrella of Filling The Gap for 21 years.
Denise Jones, The Resource Center chief executive officer, said Felice led with his heart.
“Whenever he was needed, he was there,” she said.
Greg Peterson, a local attorney who has served on the boards of The Resource Center or The Resource Center Foundation for more than 40 years, said it is an honor to reflect on Felice’s accomplishments.
“It cannot be overstated what he did. The time he gave,” Peterson said.
Felice and Laura received The Resource Center’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011.
