Following a hotly contested semifinals round of competition, eight finalists will advance to the eighth annual “Chautauqua’s Got Talent” finale at The Spire Theater next Monday.

This week’s round of competition saw a field of 12 competing acts narrowed down to eight with the elimination of: Yadilex Mareara, Maia Davis, Haeli Augenstein and Elijah Manuel. The eight finalists who will appear in the finals next week are: Ayrianna Brady, Deryck Brown, Angel Rodriguez, Miranda Wilcox, Elizabeth Lutgen, Grace Anderson, Ryan Buzzetto, and the duo of Emma Anderson and Annika Spitzer.

“This was another great show tonight; the contestants this year have really impressed me with their variety and creativity,” said Angelo Giuffre, co-owner of The Spire Theater and co-producer of the annual “Chautauqua’s Got Talent” competition. “I think it’s going to be very difficult for our audience to choose a winner next week, because everybody is just that good.”

Judges in Monday’s fourth round of competition were Paul Clemente, Jamie Lee, Heather Skuggen, Steve Davis and guest judge Rya Giuffre. The host of this year’s competition is Jon Marc Johnson, lead singer of the locally renowned soul and funk band Smackdab.

There is one remaining rounds of competition, which will be held Monday at 7 p.m. The winner of this year’s competition will receive an $800 cash prize and free monthly dinner for a year at a local restaurant.

Presale tickets to Monday’s finale are $7, and are available for purchase through Brazil Craft Beer and Wine Lounge, located at 10 E. Fourth St. in Jamestown, or online at spiretheater.org. Individual tickets are available at the door for $9.

The Spire Theater is located at 317 E. Third St. in Jamestown. For more information on auditions, or this year’s “Chautauqua’s Got Talent” competition, contact Angelo Giuffre at 450-7357, or by email at jamestownspire@gmail.com.
