Randolph Man Given Probation For Injuring Disabled Person

LITTLE VALLEY–A Randolph man convicted of endangering the welfare of an incompetent person was sentenced to five years of probation.

Joshua Meacham, 35, was sentenced Wednesday in Cattaraugus County Court, the result of a July 3 offense in Randolph, in which he knowingly injured the physical, mental or moral welfare of a person suffering from a disability, mental illness or defect.

Also sentenced Wednesday was John M. Leaf, 44, of Salamanca, who was handed five years of probation and a revoked license for a conviction of driving while intoxicated, a class E felony. The charge stems from a March 27 incident in Ellicottville, in which Leaf drove a vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .26 percent.

Individuals who pleaded guilty Wednesday included:

Clifford W. Heitman, 33, of West Valley, who pleaded guilty to aggravated DWI, a class E felony. The charge stems from a July 22 incident in Coldspring, in which Heitman drove a vehicle while intoxicated and with a passenger who was 15 years old or less. Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 18.

Ryan M. Gerrity, 39, of Olean, who pleaded guilty to DWI, a class E felony. The charge stems from a July incident in Olean, in which Gerrity drove a vehicle with a BAC of .13 percent. Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 18.

Buddy L. Langdon, 35, of Olean, who pleaded guilty to criminal possession of 10,000 unstamped cigarettes, a class E felony; and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony. The charges stem from an April 5 incident in Olean, in which Langdon willfully possessed or transported 10,000 or more unstamped cigarettes for the purpose of sale. He also possessed a controlled substance with intent to sell it. Sentencing is scheduled for March 6.

Individuals who pleaded not guilty Wednesday included:

Julian M. Roulo, 20, of Olean, who pleaded not guilty to second-degree robbery, a class C felony; second-degree burglary, a class C felony; fourth-degree grand larceny, a class E felony; and petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor. The charges stem from a Jan. 26 incident in Olean, in which Roulo allegedly entered and remained unlawfully in a dwelling with intent to commit a crime and steal property. The matter has been adjourned for motions.

Matthew Kwietniewski, 52, of West Seneca, who pleaded not guilty to aggravated DWI, a class E felony; and speed not reasonable or prudent, a violation; The charges stem from a July 9 incident in Yorkshire, in which Kwietniewski allegedly drove a vehicle with a BAC of .20 percent. The matter has been adjourned for motions.

HH Rauh Paving, Inc., by John Rauh of Ashville, who pleaded not guilty to two counts of first-degree offering a false instrument for filing, class E felonies. The charges stem from incidents that occurred between May 1, 2013, and Dec. 22, 2014, in Allegany, in which the corporation allegedly filed false instruments. The matter has been adjourned for motions.

Chance Washburn, 22, of Little Valley, who pleaded not guilty to third-degree grand larceny, a class D felony. The charge stems from a Dec. 9-10, 2015, incident in Little Valley, in which Washburn allegedly stole property valued at more than $3,000. The matter has been adjourned for motions.
