Gowanda Man Gets Probation For Making Meth

LITTLE VALLEY — A Gowanda man who was found with methamphetamine lab equipment will face five years of probation.

On Monday, Ryan Pisa, 38, was handed the five-year probationary sentence in Cattaraugus County Court. His conviction of third-degree attempted unlawful manufacture of methamphetamines stems from an April 9 incident, in which he was found with lab equipment and precursors used in making meth.

Individuals who pleaded guilty Monday included:

Caleb M. Gerwitz, 18, of Machias, who pleaded guilty to attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class E felony. The charge stems from a Sept. 23 incident in Ellicottville, in which Gerwitz unlawfully attempted to possess a controlled substance with intent to sell. Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 17.

Dalton J. Martello, 25, of Olean, who pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated, a class E felony. The charge stems from an incident on Aug. 14 in Olean, in which Martello drove a vehicle on a public highway while intoxicated. Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 18.

Dennis G. Mitchell, 28, of Gowanda, who pleaded guilty to second-degree criminal possession of methamphetamine manufacturing material, a class A. misdemeanor. The charge stems from a Sept. 5 incident in Persia, in which Mitchell possessed the materials to manufacture methamphetamine. Mitchell also pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a class B felony. The charge stems from a Dec. 21, 2015, incident in Persia, in which Mitchell unlawfully sold a narcotic drug. Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 17.

John Lee, 42, of Salamanca, who pleaded guilty to third-degree attempted criminal sale of a controlled substance, a class C felony. The charge stems from a Feb. 12, 2015, incident in Great Valley, in which Lee unlawfully attempted to sell a controlled substance. Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 18.

Lucas Burdic, 23, of Delevan, who pleaded guilty to third-degree rape, a class A misdemeanor. The charge stems from an April 9 incident in Yorkshire, in which Burdic remained unlawfully in a dwelling and engaged in sexual intercourse with another person by forcible compulsion. Sentencing is Jan. 17.
