ELLERY — A search of an Ellery property on Friday for an Ashville woman who has been missing for more than a decade turned up no additional leads.

Troopers searched a property at 5230 Slide Road, Ellery, after a new opportunity to search an area that was previously unavailable presented itself, according to Capt. Eric Balon of the New York State Police.

Anderson, 36 years old at the time, was last known to be visiting a friend Oct. 28, 2008, in Jamestown while driving a blue 2005 Dodge Caravan. According to police, Anderson sent a text message to a friend at about 1:30 p.m. — the last person to reportedly have contact with her.

The state police attempted to contact the Busti woman after she failed to pick up her son from school. Items found at Corrie’s residence suggest she made it home sometime prior to her disappearance. Two days later, Anderson’s van was found in a field off Kortwright Road, about 2 miles from her home. Numerous leads were followed, and an extensive search of the surrounding area was conducted, police said.

In December 2008, more than a month after she went missing, an exhaustive search was conducted by Texas EquuSearch, a nonprofit mounted search and recovery unit from Dickinson, Texas.

The family offered a reward for information leading to Anderson’s whereabouts, one of many rewards that would be offered in the following decade. Anderson has green eyes and chin-length blond hair. She is about 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs 170 pounds. She was last seen wearing black corduroy pants, a black leather jacket, and small wire-rimmed glasses.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Jamestown at 665-3526. Please refer to SJS No. 2743966.
