The Ellicott Police Department is warning the public of fake $100 bills that have been circulating in the area.

In a message posted to Facebook on Thursday, Ellicott police said it had received “numerous fake $100 bills” that had been turned into the department.

“As you can see with these bills, they have Chinese writing on them,” Ellicott PD said. “All of them have also had the same serial number on them.”

The warning went out to local businesses in addition to the public.

“Make sure you really look at your money,” the department said.
