(10:40 AM) City Man Charged After Fleeing Police In Stolen Car
A Jamestown man was charged after fleeing police in a stolen car late last month.
The Lakewood-Busti Police Department received a complaint of a burglary in the village in which a car was taken from a garage Nov. 28. The following day, around 4 p.m., officers located the stolen car on Fairmount Avenue in West Ellicott. Officers attempted to stop the car, driven by 22-year-old Tyler N. Tedesco.
The city man refused to stop, and led officers on a pursuit with speeds reaching 90 mph on Fairmount Avenue, the Lakewood-Busti Police Department said in a press release Wednesday.
Tedesco fled the car with his girlfriend and 3-year-old child, who were both passengers in the stolen vehicle. He was later taken into custody and charged with criminal possession of stolen property, unlawful fleeing a police officer, endangering the welfare of a child, reckless driving, unlicensed operator and speed in zone.
Tedesco was held at the Chautauqua County Jail and later released by Ellicott Town Court.
