UPDATE: Wrong Way Driver Causes Head-On Crash On Interstate
FALCONER — Two people were taken to the hospital for minor injuries after a man traveling the wrong way on Interstate 86 struck their vehicle head-on Wednesday in Falconer.
The New York State Police say 86-year-old Charles D. French of West Oak Hill Road, Jamestown, was westbound in the eastbound lane on the interstate when he struck a vehicle driven by a 19-yea-old Salamanca woman. The woman and a 6-month-old child were taken to UPMC Chautauqua.
Troopers were assisted by Falconer firefighters and an ambulance from Kennedy.
No charges were filed, state police said.
