CELORON — A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be hosted for the Chautauqua Harbor Hotel on Thursday at 3 p.m.

Many local officials are planning on attending the ceremony, which will symbolize the beginning of Hart Hotels’ business on Chautauqua Lake. The hotel started hosting visitors during a soft opening Aug. 30.

The 10 Dunham Ave. location features 135 rooms along with concierge service, banquet-style dining and patio views of the lake. Chautauqua Harbor is the fourth of CEO David Hart’s Harbor Hotel Collection, a series of resorts that aim to attract new visitors to significant bodies of water in the northeast United States. This newly finished building is the largest in his collection yet.

The Chautauqua Harbor Hotel is a $38 million project, one that began construction earlier this year. Hart said he doesn’t want to satisfy demand; he wants to create it.
